The keeping of bees is like the direction of sunbeams
— Henry David Thoreau

Established in 1980, the Beekeepers Association of Southern California (BASC) is a community of beekeepers, bee enthusiasts, and advocates who convene monthly to exchange the latest insights on current beekeeping practices and engage in discussions about the latest challenges pollinators face.

Throughout the year, BASC also actively participates in various events, dedicating our time to educating local communities about the invaluable contributions of the honeybees and local pollinators while offering our locally-produced honey for sale. For information on our upcoming events and classes organized in collaboration with our partner apiaries, please refer to our classes & events calendar.

BASC extends an open invitation for you to sit in on one of our monthly in-person meetings free of charge to see what we are all about. If distance is a barrier, you are welcome to connect with us via Zoom. By subscribing to our email list, you will receive monthly meeting invitations and the Zoom link.

Come and experience the heart of our community firsthand. Bring your questions (we address them on Zoom as well), engage in educational presentations and enjoy a tasty snack while networking with fellow beekeepers. Perhaps even win something fun from our opportunity drawing table. We believe you will find it a rewarding experience!
